Description:

Small waterbird, at about 25 cm in length, this is the smallest european member of the grebe family (Podicipedidae). Dark above and rufous below (cheeks, neck and flanks), easily recognized by the yellow spot at the base of the beak.

Habitat:

Seen in urban center, on a small river.
