Field Notes
Description:
An Australian native bee that resembles a bumblebee in shape, and is covered in orange-brown fur. The abdomen has several dark hairless bands, seven in the case of males, six for females. It is similar in size to a European honeybee
Habitat:
I have noticed two to three of these bees roosting in my garden at night for around 3 weeks, but only earlier this evening have I finally managed to get a decent photo of them. The generally roost at least a meter off the ground preferring to hold onto small twigs
