Field Notes

Description:

The parents usually join me for biscuits over the first cup of coffee in the morning. For the last few days they had been picking up the biscuit crumbs and flying away with beaks crammed full. Today they brought Baby bulbul along.

Habitat:

My rooftop. These birds are pretty common.

Notes:

After the Baby Bulbul was full, it flew to my neighbour's rooftop garden and perched on a shrub. The crows with whom its parents compete for biscuits noticed it and went close to "investigate."
I saw the parents aggresively drive off the house crow that had designs on Baby Bulbul. Initially they warned the crow vocally...the alarm call was clear. When the crow did not heed it one of the parent birds dive bombed it and drove it away.
