Field Notes

Description:

A BIG footprint path (there were several) of fresh footprints along the Lake Eaton Trail, in Ocala National Forest. Maybe about 5" across.

Habitat:

Oak Scrub.

Notes:

The trail was unsettlingly fresh. There was also several fresh bear scat piles along the path. Toward the end of the hike (fortunately....) we heard snuffling and grunting in the bushes just off to the left.

Needless to say we did not tarry in the vicinity.....
