Field Notes

Description:

Males of this species. The breeding colours are bright orange in front, breeding in Thailand in March until May. Two last photos of non-breeding colours

Habitat:

My garden

Notes:

They, plus the Calotes mystaceus (who turns blue in breeding season) are heavily hunted and killed in the breeding season. Enormous numbers of killed lizards do not prevent them to stay a common species.
