Description:

This is a thumb sized beetle, which has a cylindrical body.

Habitat:

Usually seen in lower altitudes.

Notes:

This one was strangely spotted at an altitude about 10,000 ft. It's perhaps been brought here blown by the wind from a lower altitude.

A holarctic genus, in which most species are spotted, or striped, in white. In the Himalaya, I guess, will be the southern border of the genus' range, and the altitude where you found it is probably fine for the species.
