Description:
Crested geckos can range in multiple colors. But the normal is a tannish color with crests running from their eyes down their back usually stopping at the base of their tail and or before.
Habitat:
Crested geckos comes from a small island called New Caledonia. The Island is a tropical environment. So these high humidity loving geckos usually are found in dense forestry. They are a arboreal specie (meaning tree dweller) that are nocturnal (active at night and sleep during the day). Although they're usually found around toward the ground, some have been found 21 feet (7 meters) high.
Notes:
They're a fruit and nectar eating gecko. Feeding mainly on fallen rotting fruit on the forest floor and nectar from certain flowers. But they do also eat some insects in the wild. In captivity most crested gecko owners feed them a commercial diet containing the perfect balance of nutrients.
