Field Notes

Description:

Large male Tokay gecko, total length about 35 cm
Nocturnal arboreal geckos, although I have a few around my house, the males regularly performing their call Tukeh tukeh (5x, then keh)
Few years ago one decided to live in my house, in the living, behind a cupboard. He stayed about 4 months, then he left.

Habitat:

Open fields with trees, forests, also near human settlements in rural areas

Notes:

Population decreasing due to over-hunting, as countries like Philippines, Vietnam and China believe in magical power of a Tokay gecko!
