Field Notes

Description:

Baby Northern Water Snake. These snakes have a series of dark/tan stripes all down the body, underneath can be yellow/grey/white and sometimes has brown/tan crescents. The cloudy blue eye indicates that the snake will shed soon, which is common for baby snakes.

Habitat:

Found under a rock on the shore of a stream.

Notes:

Defended himself very well.
