Description:
It is a small yet colorful Tortoise beetle that has golden, black, and transparent patterns on the elytron. The beetle has black and golden in the middle with transparent on the outside parts and the head. The beetle has a yellow abdomen and head with golden legs.
Habitat:
Semi-urban, Fort Worth, Texas. It was found sitting on grass and then flew to a plantain plant. There range can have lots of terrains like the forests of the Amazon to the deserts of Arizona making this species very wide spread.
Notes:
It was a small male with a length of 10 mm. and a width of 5 mm. The elytron also has a rough texture to the surface making the colors glow. This beetle was discovered by Olivier in 1790. is a species of tortoise beetle in the family Chrysomelidae. It is found in the Caribbean, Central America, North America, and South America.
