Field Notes

Description:

American leaf-nosed bat. Its name comes from them constructing tents in groups, out of large, fan-shaped leaves such as palm o banana leaves. These roosts provide excellent protection from the tropical rains, and a single tent roost may house several bats at once.

Habitat:

Manuel Antonio National Park.

Sorry Flavio: I forgot to answer you: They were under a banana leaf next to the hiking trail so it was not hard to spot them. If you are in the lookout, that is :-)
Thanks beaker98! Coming from you it is a double compliment which I really appreciate :-) @manuelarias: I do not think so. See here for species found in Manuel Antonio: http://www.naturespecialist.com/mammalsmantonio.htm
