Field Notes

Description:

This little guy was very shy and refused to show his full form. I was very pleased to find they are so close to home though so I will try to get full shots to add here.

Habitat:

In dense grassy area lightly timbered with small eucalyptus, leptospermum and mutton-wood trees. National Park.

Well we can't even find moths any more Hema. Winter is here with a vengeance so it's fungi or nothing now.

Thanks peoples. I'll get one properly in the next few days whatever it takes. This area is all very dense grasses unfortunately... easy for them but hard for us to move through.

Someone should tell this little fella that we can still see it hiding behind blades of grass! Lovely photos of a lovely creature. I raised one many years ago, such a character.

So adorable. The school I went to, there mascot was a wallaby. Kind of odd though since it was in Maryland.
