Description:

The Delta-Spotted Spiketail has a black abdomen with yellow triangular spots on the dorsal surface. The sides of the thorax are black with straight, broad, yellow stripes.

Habitat:

On a path, very close to a spring fed large pond.

Species ID Suggestions

Not a Delta-spotted Spiketail; note that the eyes are not touching at all, which is a field mark for dragonflies in the Clubtail group (Gomphidae), while the Spiketails are in the Cordulegastridae group.
