Field Notes

Description:

Plant moderately sized, orange-brown, ochre; capitulum small w/ out terminal bud; fassicles in groups of three; Stem leaves lingulate 1.3mm, septations throughout, efibrillose; branch leaves secund, pores large, mostly along commisures; stem cross-section with 2-3 layers of superficial cortex; Stem with slight metallic sheen.

Habitat:

Domed bog on the west side of the Olympic Penninsula.

Notes:

Most likely in the Sphagna group: subsecunda.
