Field Notes

Description:

This small moth is about the same size (1 cm) and color as one of the local Fireflies (Beetle, Lampyridae). It's flight period also overlaps that of the Firefly.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden (along with many Fireflies), San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Notes:

Arctiidae, Lithosiinae, Rhabdatomis sp. as identified by bayucca http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/20472277/fullscreen. I didn't realize at that time that it was imitating the local Firefly.
