Description:

El macho tiene la cabeza verde azulada, pico amarillo, pecho pardo o castaño, collar blanco, cuerpo gris y popa negra.

Habitat:

Habita todo tipo de humedales (naturales o artificiales) independientemente de su extensión, profundidad y grado de humanización. Nidifica alejado de las zonas húmedas, en cultivos o baldíos. También puede criar en árboles. Ocupa perfectamente cauces fluviales.
