Field Notes

Description:

The males are around 24 cm long. They have a pale grey forehead and chest. The crested head, neck, throat and lower belly are yellow. The back, lower breast and upper belly are blue-grey, and the flight feathers and long pointed tail are black with outer tail feathers spotted in white. Females are slightly smaller and more dull in color.

Habitat:

San Gerardo de Dota. Near 3000 m. Mountains. Paraiso Quetzal.
