Description:

This distinctive and elegant butterfly in the family Pieridae is the only large white butterfly in Europe with all the veins lined black, and lacks any other markings. It is is now sadly extinct in the UK.

Habitat:

Forest clearing, alt. 1400 m.

Notes:

Distribution: most of Europe, North America, temperate Asia, Korea and Japan.
