Field Notes

Description:

Beautiful marbled spider in a yellowish tan color. The spider was a big one. Very round. Just as high as it was wide. Easily the size of an american half dollar coin.

The spider was letting out long strong streams of web as it ran up and down the stick it was on which was about 4 feet long (the stick).

Habitat:

Northwest Michigan lower peninsula. Backyard with lots of trees, flowers, and different landscapes.

Notes:

The spider was fast. It ran up and down the stick as my husband held the stick so I could snap some quick photos before he took it out to the woods out back. It was getting a bit close to the house. He was hanging on the eaves.

The day was very damp and wet.
