Can you give me the size of the specimen ? I hesitate between two families: Panthophtalmidae or Stratiomyidae...
Sad about the fly but what a spotting! The underside color and size is great.
It was sick but still walking around so I used a pencil to flip it over, then flipped it back and it crawled away...it was a monster....about an inch and a half long...
nice series - I was wondering the same thing as Cindy
Beautiful fly! How did you get it flipped over? It looks in perfect shape to be dead.
