Description:

The Small Skipper is similar in appearance to the Essex Skipper Thymelicus lineola, but the undersides of the tips of the antennae are yellow orange, whereas they are black in the Essex Skipper.

Habitat:

Meadow with tall grass, alt. 1400 m.

Notes:

The male is distinguished from the female by the sex brand on its forewings, a slightly curved black line of specialised scent scales.
