Description:

Box turtles have a high domed shell and the bottom shell has a hinge that allows them to seal up tight like a box. The way you tell a female from male is by eye color. The female have brown eyes and male have red-orangish color eyes. This guy was found on my driveway making his way to the woods.

Habitat:

Meadows and woodland areas.

Notes:

Box turtles are omnivores meaning they eat meat, fruits and vegetables like earthworms, berries and plants.
