Description:

Fairly large in size, has pink and yellow markings along body and wings. Has 6 legs of varying size.

Habitat:

Nice temperate climate in southeastern North Carolina

Thanks for the information Aaron! There is a huge population of them living in my grandparent's yard, but we haven't seen them anywhere else in our area and worried that they came in through imported plants (grandparents run a plant nursery). Good to know! :-)

Hi there. The scientific name is now Romalea microptera, as guttata was dropped a while back in favor of the old name. Also, it's not an invasive species. North Carolina is the northernmost part of its natural range. :-)
