Description:

Cap thin, leathery bracket-like; surface velvet-like with concentric bands of brown-red-yellow-gray colors; pores white-yellow. This fungi causes a white rot of trees and logs.

Habitat:

wooded moist pine and hardwood trees

Notes:

Turkey tail found on decayed pine tree stump off Egg Lake Trail.
