Field Notes

Description:

Yellow flowers with seven or eight toothed petals. The stems are spindly and leaves feathery. They grow in clumps or clusters and stand 2 ft tall.

Habitat:

Found in rocky Ozarks mountainside in an old field clearing.

Notes:

This flower was found in the ghost town remains of Melva, MO. I imagine that it could be a naturalized decendant of garden flowers.
