Description:
10/3/13 4:00 p.m. Danielle Isolano I spotted this White-marked tussock moth (Orgyia leucostigma) in Williamsburg, Va. The moth is known for it's red nose and fuzzy body. They tend to feed on a variety of plants such as apple trees and oaks. When they exist in large numbers, they pose a threat to these trees. They may also cause an allergic reaction to humans if their hair is touched.
