Description:
Small (8mm) legless maggot of a carrot fly found in a turnip. These flies lay their eggs near the roots and the larvae enter the carrots or other roots to feed. Then they turn to nymph and can hibernate waiting the next spring. You can see in the photo the mouth hooks used to dig into the roots.
