Field Notes

Description:

Ontario Aster has stems from 1 to 4 feet high. Leaves are alternate, thin, lance shaped. Stem leaves have a few coarse but sharp teeth and little winged growths at the base. It has small white flowers with 12 to 25 disc florets. The disc flowers have a yellow corolla, the tips of the lobes are pointed and flare outward.

Habitat:

The plant grows in moist meadows and woodlands with partial sun.

Notes:

This aster was found along the Egg Lake Trail.
*It looks like the Bushy Aster.
