Just been having a thorough look, at female leucauge sp, its just the variations within the genus, still looking at the moment.
Yes, after checking again this morning (yesterday it was already too late), I agree, not Nephilidae, despite the body shape which has mislead me. What about Leucage sp.??
i agree that it does seem to be (Tetragnathidae). nice shots by the way!
I am sure that this is not a Nephila, my guess is that it is a species of Long jawed orb weaver (Tetragnathidae).
It cannot be Nephila pilipes. That is an Indian and East Asian species. The only native neotropical Nephila is Nephila clavipes. From Brazil and Arentina there are reports from an intruder called Nephila sexpunctata, but this one looks complitely different. I am as Janine pretty sure it is a Nephilidae, specially from the shape in #1. Could be a juvenile Nephila clavipes, but I did not dare to confirm that from what I have seen, not much teenies around. It can be Nephila pilipes, IF we have a second intruder in Brazil, which is not impossible but probably not the case.
im sure that this is part of the family nephila a juvenile iv been wracking my brains.
