Description:
Golden to buff colored mushroom with a vase-like shape.The upper portion of this fungus is flattened and has wavy edges that fold in on themselves. Faint wrinkles are present along the "stalk."
Clavariadelphus truncatus is commonly mistaken for its distant relative the chanterelle (Cantharellaceae family), but it belongs to the club fungi family, Clavariadelphaceae.
Habitat:
Found growing below a large oak, in leaf litter and soil, in Northwest Georgia (Gordon County), US.
