Description:
From the "Field Guide to the Wildflowers of Georgia and the Surrounding States" - an annual herb found in pastures, roadsides, and disturbed areas throughout Georgia. Grows up to 3 feet tall. Flower clusters are coiled and densely flowered, with 1-sided spikes up to 6 inches long. Individual flowers are about 1/10 of an inch wide, blue or lavender in color, with a yellow throat. Flowers July through November.
Habitat:
Central Georgia - this very small specimen was growing in a crack in a sidewalk, in a very urban area.
