Field Notes

Description:

This chubby spotted larvae is certainly a leaf beetle. I have seen these beetles only two times before, http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/16283179

Habitat:

It was on a young 10m wattle (Acacia) together with about ten red and black leaf beetles.

Notes:

I confidently assume that these adults are the same species but I have collected the globular larva, hopefully to observe its pupa and to confirm the adult species that it becomes.
The information on this link confirm similar larvae for two other species in the genus Dicranosterna http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_leafbeetles/Dicranosterna.htm
