Description:
For the summer, a family of Western Screech Owls made their home in our attic! Nightly, the mother would go out to hunt, and the father would stay home with the two owlets. One night, we were watching the nest and we just happened to be shining a flashlight up there when we saw momma owl bring back a live rat in her talons! She proceeded to take her victim up to the roof and... well... let's just say that rat was not alive for much longer.

Habitat:
Crevices-- anywhere they can find them!
After the babies are all grown, the parent owls will stay in their nest for a few more weeks before taking flight and finding a new place to live.
