Field Notes

Description:

It points its head down on a twig, with its tail in the contact with twig or branch to deliberately give the impression of a withered leaf hanging in a perfectly natural manner. It is a strong flier but settles often, while wings wide open towards the sun. They maintain a slow flapping of wings while basking.

Habitat:

Sinharaja Rainforest
