Field Notes

Description:

This active little bird is all grey above and white on the underside. White flecks seen on wing feathers, wing margin and tail tip. Thin white lines present, one above and the other behind each eye.
White of the throat is broken by a black ring around the base. The belly was a light cream. Tail is long and often fanned out in flight.

Habitat:

Dry eucalypt forest.

Notes:

Very energetic and acrobatic little bird. Interesting to watch it fly and catch insects in flight . It flew around me a couple of times. This species is said to be inquisitive of observers; probably the reason why it flew towards and around me several times.
Family: Rhipiduridae

Thanks, Pam. Kept clicking frantically and got these in "focus" out of a million others - pleased with myself. Such an active little bird..
