Field Notes

Description:

Perennial, to 3 ft. tall. Leaves alternate, lots of them, grass-like. Flowers are a very pale blue to white. Star-shaped. Calyx is 5-lobed. Seedpods are long, erect, and usually in pairs.

Habitat:

Florida Sandhills and Clayhills. I found this one in the Silver River State Park area. (just outside the park.)
