Description:

The smell of the leaves was aromatic. Lot of these types of plant along the roadside http://www.pfaf.org/user/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Artemisia+vulgaris The leaves of this plant are edible raw or cooked and taste aromatic and somewhat bitter. They aid digestion and are therefore usually added to dishes in small quantities to add flavour. The flowering tops can be eaten just before they bloom. The leaves can be dried and used as tea and an infusion of the plant can be used to cure worms, treat epilepsy. They are an abortifacient so pregnant women shouldn't eat them. The roots are harvested in Autumn and are tonic, antispasmodic and apparently are one of the best stomachics (increasing appetite and toning the stomach. The plant used to be used to repel moths and the leaves, placed in the sole of the shoe are said to sooth sore feet Alsohoary ragwort looked kinda similar but I don't think it has the aromatic smell http://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/hoary-ragwort
