Nice pic kjgrinter! This is Neoscona crucifera, which have a wide range and vary in color. The markings on the back are pretty tell-tale of the species.

I'm sorry, but it isn't a crab spider. try to find out the real ID googling Araneidae family, going deeper in to the taxa, try aranein, which is a tribe composed of 46 genera.
