Field Notes

Description:

Nocturnal animal, usually coming out at sunset to hunt insects.
Small in size of around 15 cm with long tails up to 22 cm.

The Bornean Tarsier is a sub-specie of Horsfield's tarsier and can be found in Sabah & Sarawak, Malaysia, Brunei and Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Habitat:

Primary and secondary forest in Borneo

Notes:

This is my first sighting of a Tarsier in Malaysia.
I have seen Tarsiers in Philippines and Sulawesi, Indonesia before.

The Tarsier was around 15 meters away from us and we were not allowed by the Guide to get out of the designated boardwalk trail to get nearer to the Tarsier to take close-up pics.
