Description:
It is a shrub that can reach 1-2 meters in height, although sometimes they reach 4 meters. It is a perennial plant that is green throughout the year and that in temperate climates such as the Mediterranean coasts can also be flowering throughout the year.
Habitat:
It is commonly found in dunes, rocky slopes, in forests, along streams, in scrublands, and open grasslands.
Notes:
Original plant from South Africa and that the natives of their area had the belief that thanks to it their cattle produced more milk when they consumed it.
Polygala comes from the Greek terms Poly which means "a lot" and Gala which means "milk," there are more than 400 species of this family distributed almost all over the world and some of them produce a large amount of milky sap.
