Field Notes

Description:

Caps ca. 1.5 inches diameter; tan with dark brown at center; smooth; dry; cracking with age.
Gills. Tan; close; attached.
Stipe ca. 0.25 inch diameter; even along length; fine scales
Spore print. Brown

Habitat:

Growing singly and in clusters. ‘Hiding’ in grass in an open, grassy area near a lake. Not visible from a distance; below grass level.
