Thank you bayucca for the links. I'm sorry I made a mistake... A. atlas occurs in the Philippines according to this link http://www.saturnia.de/Research/Sat-Phil.html . Febby Anne's spotting may be a female Attacus atlas...
Many untrusted sites around. In the meanwhile I think it is Lemairei due to the missing second stripe on the forewing.
In this case this ID is wrong: http://thornesinsects.com/catalog-insect-1140158/Attacus_lorquini

A must see!! Gynandromorph with both female and male in the same moth!

Interesting about hybrids: http://www.actias.de/24217-attacus-lemairei-f-x-attacus-lorquinii-m.html
Thanks, Leana for the interesting discussion!
Female A. lorquinii looks like this...

Anne, I think you exactly got the point of our site! Love for nature! Science is something to learn and now you only have to be an Explorer! Best thing: There is even an Explorer patch on Project Noah!! You only need to upload some more 94 spottings here ;-)...
Thanks everyone for naming this specie. I really don't have any idea about this moth. My mother says this is just called mariposa here in our locality. Being a student teacher is a hard task. But my love for nature and science are my motivations to explore more things around.
Yes, I guessed, that Atlas is actually not found on the Philippines. Do we know, how the female of Lorquini is looking?? Lemairei looks indeed not bad.
We don't have A. atlas in the Philippines, bayucca... There are only three species occurring in the Philippines, A. lorquinii, A. caesar and A. lemairei. I based my ID on this link ...http://www.saturniidae-web.de/Attacus%20lemairei.htm
Hi Febby Anne! We have local mission "Moths in the Philippines" at http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/15913873 and global "Moths of the World" mission at http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8841449 . Please join the missions and include this moth spotting there. Thanks and welcome to Project Noah! :)
Leana, do you know if A. atlas is found on the Philippines? What about separation of Lemairei and Lorquini? Can you tell me something about it. I do not challenge your ID, just wondering.
Attacus sp., most probably either Attacus atlas:

or Attacus lorquini.
I am not 100% sure, if Attacus atlas is found on your islands! Please, verify.
