Field Notes

Description:

A nestling of Baya Weaver that fall down from its nest. It was lucky because the nest is not high, and the ground is soft (because of tall grass). Because the space inside the nest is too small for 2 nestling, sometime the strongest one will push its sibling out from the nest. After take a few pictures, i return it back to its nest. I hope, both of them will grow up to become an adult. Whether it survives or not, I will leave it to mother nature...

Habitat:

- Spotted in my backyard. Usually, this birds are found in grasslands, cultivated areas, scrub, and secondary growth. They built their nest on thorny trees or palm fronds, and the nests are often built near water.

Notes:

- This weaver birds is from the Ploceidae family. They can be found across the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
