Description:

There are up to 12 species of Bats living in the Caves around Mulu National Park. The most popular Cave is Deer Cave where most visitors goes to and stays until dusk i.e. 6-7 pm to wait for the exodus of Bats flying out of the cave in batches for their night forays to search for food.

It is estimated that there are up to 3 millions Bats living in the Deer Cave!
As the Bats come out to search for food, they are also preyed upon by bigger birds like Hawks, as shown in Pic #4 and Pic#5.

Notes:

Pic #1 and #2 are of the Bats taken at the Restaurant of Mulu National Park HQ Restaurant. The Restaurant's lights attracts lots of Insects at night, which in turn attracts the Bats.
