Field Notes

Description:

Is this a checkered beetle (Cleridae).
It seems to think it is a ladybird beetle.
They are usually hairy but this is brighter and smoother than any I know of.

Habitat:

Found hilltopping and on flowers of prickly acacia.

Notes:

ID suggestion is from Ken Walker

Thanks Ken. Thanks Stephen Thorpe. There are no images to be found of this one, which is the usual way we neophytes try to identify these species.
Certainly Lemidia, probably the species Ken suggested on BowerBird
