Description:

A black Soldier Beetle with an all white thorax. The legs are yellow on the femura and black on the tibiae. About 1 cm long. Family Cantharidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Hi Michael. The only reference to the genus Discodon that I could find was that it occurs in Costa Rica, so it is possible that it is also in southern Mexico, but I can't find anything for it and no pictures. Would you happen to have a reference? Have you seen this one before?
