Description:

Tiene forma de huso, cuerpo comprimido, con un tamaño medio que ronda los 20-30 cm, aunque se pueden encontrar ejemplares que llegan a los 50 cm de longitud. Su piel y escamas presentan tonalidad plateada, prácticamente blanca, distinguiéndose particularmente por 12-15 inconfundibles bandas oscuras que atraviesan su lomo y se difuminan al legar al vientre.

Habitat:

Fondos poco profundos y arenosos.
