Description:

I suspect this to be a sub-adult female Tenodera sinensis, please verify!
'She' was slandering around the Summer Palace, Beijing China, today :)

Laura, this is a stunning Mantis! However, I don't think this is Tenodera sinensis. I am not sure which mantis it is but it looks similar to some of the Sphodromantis species. This is an adult mantis for sure (fully developed wings). Hierodula species are somewhat similar looking with the white spots on the wings and the shape of the thorax but they don't seem to have the white spikes on the femora (front legs closest section to body). Sorry I can't help you more.
