Field Notes

Description:

Male 13 cm. A very different brillant, this one mostly buffy fawn below with a glittering pink throat patch on lower throat; forked tail bronzy. This brillant occurs regulary at many establishments with feeders.

Habitat:

Somewhat local in lower growth and borders of montane forest, sometimes out into shrubby clearings, on both slopes of Andes. Mostly 1.100-2.400 m.
