Little Corella

Adults grow to just under 40cm, male & female similar, curved thick beak used for breaking open hard seed coats and grinding food, also eats insects, grubs & larvae, distinctive pale blue eye ring, short crown of feathers can be held erect, feathers are a soft clean white with blushes of pink and yellow throughout especially visible when wings are extended. Call is loud especially when the birds gather in flocks that have been known to number in the tens of thousands (even a few can be very loud). Roosts near water.
